About Roots and Fruits Homestead
After washing his hands, My oldest child had a habit of sliding the bathroom hand towel off the bar, putting it in the sink, turning on the water to drench the towel, and pulling it behind him through the house leaving a snail trail of water everywhere he ran before I could notice and catch up to him. It's cute in hindsight, but I didn't think so at the time. Instead of standing at the bathroom door every time he needed to use the bathroom, I started searching for a towel that would secure to the towel bar. I found a pattern for the "oven dress" which was made primarily for the handle on the oven door. I made a few modifications to the pattern to match my vision for it (with the permission of the original pattern maker, of course) and my version of the oven dress was born. With the bathroom hand towel buttoned to the towel bar, my oldest lost interest in the chase. Even now, he rarely takes it down, and if he does, he is no longer the feral toddler that dragged it through the house -- he takes it to the laundry. If this sounds like your current season or your kitchen towel never seems to stay on the oven handle, I'd love to help take one thing off your plate...floor. My business grew from the oven dress and is still my best seller.
